When we checked in, the warm hospitality given to us was instantly a home run - the staff was so friendly and excited to have us ... the personalised print out of a welcome letter and the wine bar was spot on after a five hour drive from! The room was amazing, with plenty of room we had a separate day bed for our son and so well decorated, the antique furnishings were a definite charm! The breakfast was amazing, it was really well presented, the food was delicious and just the right amount and most importantly the young lady serving us was just so precious and kind - she really took great care of the family and had such a wonderful attitude! When we misplaced my wife’s wedding ring, they all took such great care of us, help us search the entire place until we found it - all that extra hard work from the staff and they all kept a positive attitude! "

"This place was amazing. I didn't know what to expect as this was the venue for a friend of mine's wedding. I was told to book a hotel room here, this is where the event was going to be held. I did as I was told. However, upon arrival (late Friday night) the property was gorgeous. This is a bed and breakfast feel with the professionalism you'd expect at any hotel/property. The rooms were comfortable, the decor was perfect and the upgrades were new, but with a classic look. The food and staff were great and I would highly recommend this for a weekend getaway, a week vacation and if you're looking to get married in the area... this is your place."

"My husband and I stayed there for 2 nights in January and we were highly impressed with the excellent service from all the staff. Kanda and Melissa were friendly, helpful and made us delicious breakfast even thou we were the only ones in the hotel since Januaty is their low season. The room was amazing, original and clean. Easy access to the beach. Just an amazing and relaxing time. We will definitely come back."

"Wow. My girlfriend and I LOVED the First Colony Inn. The Inn itself is gorgeous and rustic with modern touches. It looks and feels like a top-quality inn with a deep and vibrant history. We loved the amenities (bicycles, beach chairs, umbrellas, outdoor rocking chairs, the awesome library, etc.). Our room was surprisingly large, comfortable, and seemingly noise-proof (as we couldn't hear the crying baby next door until we opened our door). The bed was perfect. And between the desk, the comfy chairs, and the table, there was plenty of space to spread out. The bathroom was really small (maybe the only negative), but not a problem. Finally, the front desk staff was super-friendly and hospitable. We'll definitely stay again."

"We stayed the weekend of Oct 4 ,2019 We had the whole Inn it was my son wedding! The staff was so helpful and knowledgeable getting us ready for our wedding weekend! From our arrival Friday every room and the grounds were perfect! The Wedding was exactly Like we had planned. The ceremony was on the beach at 5PM and the reception was at the Inn in a large beautiful white tent. All of our guests loved the rooms and the walk around porch. Some rooms had a view of either the beach or the sound but everyone had the beautiful view of the grounds surrounding around the Inn . It was a wonderful fall weekend. Words cannot thank you enough for the memories both our family’s will have of our Wedding Weekend at The First Colony Inn! Mary F."
